Wouters P.

Patrick Wouters MD, PhD is head of the department of anesthesia and perioperative medicine at the Ghent University Hospital. He is professor of clinical physiology at Ghent University. His clinical expertise is in cardiac anesthesia including congenital heart surgery. Scientific fields of interest and activity include “right ventricular failure and the pulmonary circulation”, "diastology", "echocardiography", “hemodynamic monitoring" and “myocardial protection”. He is current Secretary-General of the Belgian Society of Anesthesia and Resuscitation (BSAR), Board member of the European Association of Cardiothoracic Anesthetists and member of the Royal Academy of Medicine.
