Djillali Annane, MD,PhD, is the Dean of the School of Medicine Simone Veil at Université Paris Saclay-UVSQ. He is the director of the General ICU department at Raymond Poincaré Hospital, Garches. He is a leading researcher and regularly ranked among the top 0.1 percent in the field of sepsis. He has contributed to several international and multi-disciplinary guidelines. He has authored about 576 peer –reviewed articles and about 180 book chapters. His H-index is of 104, with 110569 citation (Google scholar). He has mentored several young colleagues some of them being now faculty members in French, Belgium, US or Canadian Universities. He is the founder and past coordinator of the CRICS-TRIGGERSEP network, a sepsis network labelled by the European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network, funded by the European Commission. He has obtained several grants from French Ministry of Health, French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, from the European Commission, from several non-profit organization, and from private companies. He held or currently holds high-level strategic position in the public sector, including Chief Counsellor of the French Minister of Health from 2012 to 2017, Chair of the Health Ministry Task Force for the national implementation of WHO recommended measures against Sepsis current since 2017, Vice-President of the board of directors of the Curie Institute (current), Vice-President of the board of directors of the Assistance Publique Hôpitaux de Paris (current), Member of the WHO Clinical Management and Characterization Working Group, President of the French Society of Intensive Care Medicine in 2011-2012, President elect of the national council of deans of medical school in France 2011-2012
