Andrea Cortegiani is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Palermo, Italy. He is consultant in Anesthesia and Intensive Care at the University Hospital Policlinico Paolo Giaccone. His research interest covers infections in the critically ill, noninvasive respiratory support, ethics in publishing and research methodology. He is the chair of the Scientific Committee of the Italian Society of Anesthesia Analgesia and Intensive Care (SIAARTI) and serves as Editorial Board member of journals such as BJA, Critical Care, Journal of Anesthesia, Analgesia and Critical Care. He published more than 220 peer review articles.
